Webinar speakers include Kaiser Permanente’s Chief Energy Officer, Ramé Hemstreet, who will describe Kaiser’s recent experience installing more than 50 MW of commercial solar PV across their building portfolio.  Jonathan Whelan, Sr. Project Manager at Optony, will present an overview of current PV system technologies that are best suited for various types of facilities, and the latest trends in technical design, project management, commissioning, operations and maintenance.

Ben Foster, Senior VP at Optony will explain important factors for determining the value of solar projects. He will also give an overview of the financing structures and incentives available for commercial solar, including power purchase agreements, leases, and revenue generating programs.

Skyler Webster, VP – Customer Relationships Manager for New Resource Bank will present a local case study on financing commercial solar projects, and the approach they have taken.

Webinar #3: Leading Practices in Commercial Solar Project Contracting and Procurement

Donald SimonThis webinar will educate commercial facilities and project managers on how to navigate the procurement process, including solar vendor proposal evaluation and contract term negotiation. With extensive experience supporting large organizations with solar procurement, Ben Foster, Senior VP at Optony, will lead the instruction.

Donald Simon, an attorney and partner at Wendel, Rosen, Black, & Dean, the first law firm to be certified a green business will be the featured speaker. He co-founded the firm’s Green Business Practice Group, and serves as general counsel to California Solar Energy Industry Association, Build It Green, Northern California Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, and Efficiency First. Donald will discuss his experience advising business clients in the Bay Area on renewable energy contracts and related business issues.
